Neapolitan Ice Cream, Flags, and Rainbow.....yarns for summer!

Here's a preview of some of the yarns I'll be listing in my Etsy Shop next week.

Yup....Strawberry, Vanilla, and Chocolate.....YUM!!

This Patriotic number is striping...red, white, red, white, red, then a thick blue stripe with stars.

And a graduated rainbow...divided into two skeins. Start with red and end with purple (or the other way round) on each sock (or mitten, or whatever!) We've certainly had enough rain today to expect a rainbow!

Things have been busy in the real life of ThePaintedTiger, what with a new (to us) home to landscape and save from erosion (we're on a hill). So I have been sadly neglecting my dyeing and knitting. Do not despair...I have just put in a large order for Merino and Superwash sock yarn, and the lure of blank canvas will ensure that I will quickly have it dyed and up on Etsy lickity split (where IS that box of yarn already????) And yes, I will do several skeins of the rainbow striping yarn...be sure to watch my shop, or let me know that you are interested, since they always go fast.

I am also ordering a small batch of 100% bamboo yarn. I understand that is it naturally antibacterial, so I'm interested to try it for myself, and see if anyone else wants some too!

In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy your Memorial weekend....the weather is supposed to be absolutely beautiful here in Eastern Iowa, and I intend to be outside for most of it!

Lace weight yarn, just for you!

Here's my entry for the Beads4You Winter Challenge on Etsy. All entrants purchased the same set of beads and made something fabulous with it. I made this hat with beaded hat pin-like picks. I knitted a superlong ribbed 1 inch strip on my knitting machine (yes, quite tedious), then stitched it around into a large hat, that I fulled down to human size. It is quite thick and warm, and will probably end up as a gift for my mother, although your comments could inspire me to make one for sale.

Yarn for WoolGirl.com, my latest project!! Most of these are DK Merino Wool, and you'll have to check with her if you want any of them! I did dye a couple fingering skeins in the rainbow, and they will be in my Etsy shop shortly. Otherwise, if you like it, ask for another! Recap for 2006: Whew, what a busy year! Just for the curious, I landed a big 46 scarf order from WinStanley in Mass. just before Christmas. Between that and my previous orders, I made 87 scarves in 2006. Here's a pic of the big order ready to ship....that's a BIG box!!

Other special orders included this rugby hat with a secret message inside (I'm not telling, but it was romantic!!), and this more managable version of a Dr. Who scarf that went to a fan in Italy.
